School Governance
Higher Bebington Junior School is a larger than average, three-form-entry mixed gender, Local Authority Maintained Community School, with 366 pupils on roll (November 2022). Our feeder school is Town Lane Infant School.
Higher Bebington Junior School has a committed and involved Governing Body and a first-class staff team led by a dedicated and innovative Headteacher.
The Governors have an important role to play in raising standards in schools and ensuring that the school’s vision of Together we Achieve is visible in all elements of the school community. Being a Governor is an excellent way of giving back to the school and to the local community.
The Governing Body comprises 10 Governors, all of whom are volunteers who bring their unique blend of skills to the Governing Body.
The parents are the largest representative group with four parent governors. There are three co-opted representatives drawn from the local community, the Headteacher is an ex-officio Governor, there is a staff representative who is elected by the staff, the local authority nominates an LA Governor, and the Governing Board has elected to have an associate governor.
There are currently no vacancies on our Governing Body. Further Governor vacancies will be advertised on the website as they occur.
If you would like more information or have a question about Governance at the school, please write, to The Chair of Governors, Higher Bebington Junior School, Mill Road, Higher Bebington, Wirral, CH63 8QE.
